Yes-ish! I either cook really lovely things or they go terribly wrong.
Any cooking tips?
Be organised. Prepping everything first makes the whole job more enjoyable.
What’s your favourite dish?
This is really hard. I genuinely love everything. Except raw celery.
And a drink to go with it?
I’m partial to a good, strong cocktail. Charlie Chaplin is a recent fave... sloe gin, apricot brandy and lime juice. But I also love a good sherry (much to my friends’ amusement), especially while I’m cooking!
Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?
The Milestone. Food and service are always excellent; the early bird menu is exceptionally good value.
Old House... great cocktails and late-night music.
What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?
Probably one cooked by me after dashing in from work.
And the best?
For our wedding anniversary we went for lunch at L’Enclume in Cartmel. The whole experience was amazing and we’d love to go back.
Your favourite TV cook?
Raymond Blanc every time. He’s just so lovely.
What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?
We’re spoilt for choice. I love the number of independents, all producing food to such a great standard and really making an effort to use local produce.
