Are you a cook?

Not by trade, but I love to cook at home. As a vegetarian I’m keen to discover new dishes and experiment.

Any cooking tips?

Be adventurous. Don’t plan your ingredients too much.

What’s your favourite dish?

Uova Fiorentina – sautéed spinach, cooked with garlic in a tomato sauce, topped with an egg, cooked in the oven then grilled with cheese.

And a drink to go with it?

I love a good chilled glass of Prosecco or my favourite white wine, Gavi di Gavi

Your favourite restaurant in the Sheffield area?

I like Nourish in Pinstone Street; I love the ethics behind it and the fact it’s so easy to eat good healthy grub.

And pub?

The Milestone

What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had?

Probably aeroplane food. Like cardboard and so dry it’s disgusting.

And the best?

At a restaurant in Rome, on top of one of the seven hills. The view may have had something to do with it!

Your favourite TV cook?

Has to be Gordon Ramsay. I’ve read his back story and I think he’s a great man.

What do you think of Sheffield as a place to eat out?

Sheffield eateries have come on so much in the last 10 years, with so many independents offering amazing food; there isn’t a type you can’t get. I’m so proud of everything Sheffield has to offer.
