When it comes to charity fundraising, Mick ‘The Knifeman’ Fox is a cut above the rest…
And the nation’s cooks will get a taste of his skills when a new recipe ebook is launched to coincide with the Eat Sheffield Awards on Monday.
Mick, of Gleadless, came up with the idea for a charity cookbook, supported by the dozens of chefs he meets as owner of mobile sharpening service UltraSharp.
Work on the 365 Charity Cookbook is well under way. But as work continues to get the book completed for next year, Mick is releasing the 365 Tasting Menu: a 28-page ebook featuring extra recipes from 12 of the chefs.
They range from big names such as ‘Spice Man’ Cyrus Todiwala to local celebrities Charlie Curran (Peppercorn) and Karim Maoui.
Mick says: “I originally had the idea for a little cookbook from this area, but it’s snowballed to become national – and international. This is a taste of what’s to come.”
Profits will go to St Luke’s Hospice, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and national charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
