Help run the Rainbows

A SHEFFIELD Rainbow leader is encouraging other women across the city to sign up for the role - promising just one hour a week can make a huge difference to the lives of young girls.

Rainbow Guider Christine Rowe, who leads a pack of youngsters at Banner Cross Methodist Church, wants to use her positive experiences to inspire other women to take on the job.

She said she first joined when she was in her 20s, with no experience of working with children, and no idea what she was letting herself in for.

"I'm so glad I went along to that first meeting, and would encourage anyone to try Guiding too," she said. Log onto www.girlguiding.org.uk to find details of your nearest group.
