It's the cup that cheers
TEA and coffee really do taste nicer from your favourite cup, research brewed up in Sheffield has found.
Dr Tom Stafford, a psychologist at The University of Sheffield, says the brain is trained to believe the daily ritual of making tea or coffee should be done in a certain way to derive maximum enjoyment.
And that includes brewing up in a favourite tea cup or coffee mug.
“It might be irrational but it’s absolutely true,” he said. “Your daily brew tastes better from your favourite mug.
“Drinking tea and coffee is very ritualistic.”
