College students made up to receive vocational awards
Sheffield College make-up students demonstrate clothes and make-up based on a cities around the world theme
Media make-up students took guests on a whirlwind round-the-world tour at Sheffield College’s annual vocational awards evening last week.
The group was challenged to come up with clothes and make-up representing cities around the globe – then took to the runway at City College to show off their work.
The Spark Awards are a highlight of the college year and around 70 students and 20 staff were presented with honours to mark their outstanding achievements. The evening, supported by City & Guilds, aimed to demonstrate how vocational qualifications enable students to realise their career ambitions.
Local VIPs joined parents and friends to watch displays by aviation, i-media, health and social care students. Trainee hairdresser Eleanor Renshaw was announced as winner of the college’s Next Top Model competition.
Principal Julie Byrne said: “It was a fantastic evening that had the ‘wow’ factor. We want to inspire more young people to discover their career aspirations.”
