All Things to All Men: Kidulthood producer George Isaac makes his debut as writer-director of London-based thriller in which professional thief Toby Stephens finds himself caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse between maverick police officer Rufus Sewell and crime boss Gabriel Byrne (Cert 15).

Dark Skies: from Jason Blum, producer of Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and Sinister, another supernatural chiller in which Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton and their two young sons experience Inexplicable events and begin to realise the family is being targeted by a malevolent presence - and it might not be from this world (Cert 15, Odeon, Cineworld, Vue).

A Late Quartet: melodrama paying homage to chamber music and the New York cultural scene with Christopher Walken as the cellist of a world-renowned string quartet in New York whose disturbing health diagnosis has disturbing consequences for fellow musicians Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keenan and Mark Ivanir and his family and friends (Cert 15, Showroom).

The Odd Life of Timothy Green: feel good Disney family film starring Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton as a couple unable to start a family who draw up a list of all the attributes their perfect child would have and bury it in a box in the garden, only for .a boy (CJ Adams) to magically pop up out of the earth just as they described him (Cert U, Odeon, Cineworld, Vue).

Spring Breakers: Disney Tween-stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens shed their family-friendly image in Harmony Korine’s outrageous tale of four friends (Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine) who rob a fast-food restaurant to raise money to join the annual student hedonistic bash in Florida, get busted on drug charges - only to be unexpectedly bailed out by dreadlocked, metal-toothed gangsta DJ James Franco who takes them to the dark side (Cert 18, Showroom, Cineworld).

The Comedy Store Raw & Uncut: filmed as live at The Comedy Store London, with MC Roger Monkhouse introducing Adam Bloom, Glenn Wool (Can), Imran Yusuf and Sean Meo (Odeon, Friday).

Sammy’s Great Escape: Belgian-made animated sequel follows two feisty leatherback turtles from home waters to imprisonment in an aquarium and finally a break for freedom (Cert U, Showroom, Saturday Club).

The War of the Worlds Alive on Stage: Jeff Wayne’s musical version of the H.G. Wells’classic novel starring Liam Neeson, Jason Donovan, Marti Pellow and the Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson filmed in front of a live audience at London’s O2 arena (Cineworld Thursday, April 11, and Sunday, April 14).
