Waiting for Video...

SHEFFIELD’S X Factor star Lucy Spraggan is back after quitting the show due to illness - she performed unannounced at the Meadowhall Christmas Lights Switch On Concert, writes Graham Walker.

The Star was there to film an exclusive new comeback track called Safe.

VIDEO: Press the play button to watch her performance, as 15,000 pop fans went wild in the car park turned concert setting at the shopping centre.

Lucy, who spoke exclusively to The Star before she went on stage, said: “I just want to thank everyone for all their support, especially since I’ve not been well.

“I’m feeling a lot better now and people will be seeing more of me in 2013.”

Fans chanted her name and cheered throughout her two songs - she also performed X Factor audition winner Last Night (Beer Fear).

Afterwards she told fans: “That’s the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me, honestly. You are amazing.

“That song I just played, literally you guys are the first to hear it at a massive gig like this.

“I’m living her and you know what, I’m so proud to say I’m living here at the moment and I’m so proud of the support you have given us. It’s been absolutely incredible.”

Sheffield’s golden girl Jessica Ennis, boy band The Wanted, chart stars Lawson and X Factor singer Misha B were also on the Capital FM stage and the concert raised around £8,000 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
