Martial art in the park - PICTURES
WHAT a sight!
More than 100 martial arts enthusiasts took over a Sheffield park this weekend in a bid to break a world record.
Tai Chi lovers from across the city embraced the Sunday morning sunshine in Endcliffe Park in an attempt to break the record for the largest Tai Chi lesson.
Around 100 groups across the country simultaneously showed their moves in a bid to break the former record of 33,966 people.
Rachel Barrow, from the Sheffield Tai Chi association, based at Kingfield Hall, said: "It was a fantastic day and I'd like to say a huge thank you to everybody who came down.
"We had people from across the city and had loads of people trying out Tai Chi for the first time.
"It was wonderful to see so many people and fingers crossed we have broken the record."
Organisers hope the event will raise 40,000 for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Mrs Barrow said: "Tai Chi is a great way to relax and unwind and research has shown it has fantastic health benefits.
Guinness World Record Officials will announce whether they have broken the record in August.
