Motorcyclist fights for life after van crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was fighting for his life in hospital today after his vehicle was in collision with a van in Sheffield.

The motorcycle, a black Kawasaki, was travelling on Shirecliffe Road, Shirecliffe, towards Pitsmoor at 8pm last night when it collided with a white VW Transporter turning right into the car park of the Timbertop pub at the junction with Miles Road.

The man, aged 29, was taken to the Northern General Hospital. He remains stable in intensive care this morning.

The driver of the van, a 36-year-old-man from Sheffield was not injured.

The road was closed for more than three hours as police accident investigators assessed the scene.
