An exclusive preview of a new Bellway development on the former Bluecoats School site recently attracted more than 100 potential buyers, says the housebuilder.
“The exhibition preview exceeded our expectations,” said Bellway’s sales manager, Melanie Smith.
“We have worked very closely with local residents and planners to develop a new residential quarter which protects the old school house and provides a range of sought-after family homes.
“The first phase of the development takes in the former Bluecoates school building, where we are providing a range of two and three-bedroom apartments.
“Despite not having a sales complex established yet, we have already sold three apartments and are now taking off-plan reservations,” said Melanie.
Bluecoats School was built in 1911 and used as a home for orphaned or fatherless boys. It was subsequently taken over by Sheffield and Hallam University as an art college campus, prior to Bellway buying the site in 2012.
Bellway’s sympathetic transformation of the former school building has created 14 two and three-bedroom apartments priced from £249,995.
Later phases of the development will provide a selection of homes ranging from three-bedroom town houses to four, five and six-bedroom detached family homes.
Situated in the much sought-after postcode S11, the location of Bluecoats benefits from a mix of urban living and peaceful countryside with lo0ts of schools. shops and other amenities close by.
The Old School House will be available from Haybrooks, Ecclesall Road, Banner Cross. Tel 07855 337192.
The first completions are anticipated in July or August.
