Public debate on politics
A PUBLIC meeting is being held to discuss how Sheffield residents can make their voice heard in local politics.
Council chiefs have opted into the Sustainable Communities Act, giving it greater say over matters such as economic development, affordable housing, social services and action to combat climate change. But the authority must seek "active involvement of local people".
Sheffield's Unlock Democracy group has organised a debate about the matter, at the Quaker Meeting House, St James Street, from 6pm on Thursday October 30.
