Hallam University students are planning a fitting tribute to late Kelham Island Brewery founder Dave Wickett – in the form of a craft beer workshop for beginners.
The event, Untapped, is being run by Paul Wilson, Amy Bryant, Meghan Waites and Jamie White, who were inspired to organise it in memory of Dave, who died last year. All profits will go to Cavendish Cancer Care.
“This really is a unique event that none of our regular fundraisers would ever think of” said head of fundraising Rebecca Allinson.
The workshop will take place at the Sheffield Tap on Sunday, March 9, 3-7pm.
Experts will guide beer novices through beers of different styles and different parts of the world, from Thornbridge to BrewDog
There will also be live music from city-based acoustic duo the Wild Sons of Gentlemen and local food from PJ Taste – including fresh-baked bread, meats, cheeses and dessers.
Sheffield artists are also working on an exhibition of beer mats, to be displayed in the Tap’s micro-brewery, and everyone will take away their own Untapped beer glass.
Tickets, priced £15, are available from: Untapped tickets
