Students’ work goes on display
WORK by Sheffield Hallam University architecture students is going on display in a city centre café.
The exhibition of work from second year architecture students runs for the week at the Blue Moon Café.
It features hand-drawn plans and elevations of the café building which demonstrate the use of sciagraphy – the art of representing shadows as realistically as possible.
The café is housed in the former Eadon Lockwood and Riddle auction hall building, St James Street and regularly hosts exhibitions of paintings by local and national artists.
Paul King, senior lecturer in architecture at the university, said: “This is the first time the café has shown work by Sheffield Hallam students.
“It is an ideal opportunity for the Sheffield public to see the quality of the work being carried out on our courses.”
