1.Pewter Live 2009, prestigious exhibition organised by the Worshipful Company of Pewterers re-locates from London to showcase the work of established craftspeople and young designers, Butcher Works, Arundel Street, Monday to Saturday, 10am - 4pm.
2.Comedians: From the 1940s to Now, drawn from the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, iconic images of some of Britain's best-loved entertainers. from Frankie Howerd and Les Dawson to ensembles such as Monty Python and French and Saunders in intimate portraits by photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Henri Cartier Bresson, Graves Gallery, Surrey Street, opens Friday, Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-5pm until March 20.
3.Christmas Crackers, the popular annual showcase for contemporary craft and design in the North of England makes a welcome return to Museums Sheffield featuring work from more than 80 of the UK's most sought after makers and designers in hand crafted jewellery, textiles, metalwork, ceramics and homeware, Millennium Gallery, Arundel Gate, Mondays-Saturdays, 10am-5pm, Sundays, 11am-5pm to January 10.
4.A Picture of Us? Identity in British Art, artists, writers and designers from across the UK including Wayne Hemingway, Kate Rusby, Martyn Ware, Anthony D'Offay, Danuta Reah , Marina Lewycka, Lisa Cheung and Hew Locke select a work from the art collections of Tate and Museums Sheffield by such artists as William Blake, Gilbert and George, Pablo Picasso, Bill Brandt and Tacita Dean, Graves Gallery, Surrey Street, Mondays-Fridays, 10am-4pm, Saturdays, 10am-5pm until December 5.
5.Hugger Gallery, newly opened venue features landscapes by Graham Clark and photographic images by Carl Hugger among more than 20 art works on view, plus the chance for visitors to paint a picture on canvas for 10 with all profits going towards planting trees, free tea and coffee, Foundry Climbing Centre Courtyard, Mowbray Street, Mondays-Saturdays, 10am-6.30pm (2750005).
6.An Evening with Michael Palin, Sheffield's favourite wanderer and Whirlow Hall Farm's patron will talk about his travels in charity event for the farm trust, City Hall, Monday, 7.30pm (29.50).
7.Act One Drama Studio, OFSTED registered drama classes, Ecclesall Parish Halls, ages six to 11, Saturdays, 10am-12 and 2pm-2pm; Mondays, 4.30pm-6.30pm, Tuesday, 5pm-7pm; ages 11-16s, Mondays, 6.30pm-8.30pm, Saturdays, 12-2pm, Tuesdays, 5-7pm; 16-19 years, Mondays, 8.15pm-10.30pm (Clare, 2667209).
