Sheffield restaurant group BrewKitchen and sister business Thornbridge Brewery have raised £9,000 for the Children’s Hospital Charity at their annual golf day.
Nineteen teams took part in the event – Bunkered – at HIllsborough Golf Club.
Golfers started the day with breakfast at The Beauchief, with a full day’s golfing before returning to the restaurant for a three-course dinner.
CEO Simon Webster said: “We’re aiming to raise £25,000 this year to fund a bedroom in the new hospital development. This will go a long way to helping achieve our total.”
Foodie swap shop
Sheffield’s first food swap is set to take place on Sunday evening, to coincide with the city’s Food Festival. Mum-of-two Nicky Campbell came across the concept online: “I thought it looked like a really good idea and as there were no food swaps in Sheffield, it was start one myself or do without,” she says. “The idea is that you trade homemade, home-grown or foraged produce with others. No money changes hands.” The swap will take place at the Rutland Arms, Brown Street, from 7.30-9.30pm. Details: Sheffield Food Swap
