BBC MasterChef winner Tim Anderson is running two masterclasses at the new Tideswell School of Food on Saturday, August 20.

A bitter blow…

The Old Horns Inn at High Bradfield celebrated Yorkshire Day by revealing the secret ingredient in its Yorkshire puddings – Lancashire ale!

The inn is owned by Lancs-based brewery Thwaites and run by Sheffielder John Wyke, who claims: “We sell 800 Yorkshire puddings a week and nothing gets a better rise than a splash of Lancaster Bomber ale.”

Welcome idea

Baslow barbecue

Rowley’s of Baslow is holding out for a sunny day on Sunday, August 14 as it hosts a village party.

The summer barbecue, taking place in the car park, will feature live music, food and summer punch. The fun starts at 5pm and will move indoors if wet.

Treat for kids
