Venue showcases Smart Art

Long Blondes, punk rock and finger painting will be the order of the month at the Venue in Stockbridge during June and August this year, as six local artists display their fascinating and varied work at the new art hub.

From never seen before images capturing the moment that Punk broke out, to photo-realistic finger paintings of all your favourite idols, there will be a piece to suit all tastes.

The Venue offers people of the town and surrounding area a wide range of performing arts and entertainment facilities, and this month will be showcasing the different talents of local artists.

Smart Art galleries will be presenting the work of its six artists:

Matt Wood, a painter who produces photo-realistic images with his fingers and thumbs

Jasper Prachek, the man who caught on camera the moment punk revolutionised the UK music scene

Kate Jackson, former Long Blondes lead singer and talented pop art artist

Martin Fitzpatrick, a respected pencil artist

Dennis Middleton, a self-taught artist and Lizzie Jackson, whose world of art is populated by voluptuous, sexy and colourful ladies

.

Michael Mackevych, director of Smart Art galleries, commented: "It it brilliant to have six local artists, all with such a wide variety of styles exhibiting at one of Sheffield's up and coming centres for art and entertainment."
