What's it like to be in your shoes?

THE people of Sheffield are getting the opportunity next week to tell their story about what it's like to be 'in their shoes'.

It's a council-backed initiative to help people understand each other and to make it easier to work together.

Stories can be contributed and read through the In My Shoes website: www.inmyshoes.co.uk. There will be displays and events in shopping areas involving local writers, poets and school and community groups.

In the Peace Gardens on Wednesday, from 5.30pm to 7pm, there will be live music from the Bollywood Brass Band, dancing and street art by Urban Canvas.Council leader Paul Scriven said: "The more we understand each other, the harder it is to be intolerant and easier to work together on the things we all care about."
