WHO would have thought that the first instrument he learned to play was the trumpet?
It was in the mid Sixties that Walter Trout saw the light and switched to electric guitar, on hearing the Paul Butterfield Blues Band featuring Mike Bloomfield. Now he is established as one of the best blues/rock guitarists in the business.

In fac
t his reputation was virtually sealed when, after a few years with Canned Heat, he was invited to join John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. What more could a blues guitarist ask for?

Since 1989 the man from New Jersey has been leading his own bands and was voted the sixth best guitarist ever in a BBC radio listeners' poll.
Generally regarded at the height of his powers on stage, Mr Trout surfaces at the Boardwalk on Wednesday, touring in support of a new album, The Outsider.
