BARELY three months after the release of The Age of the Understatement, the Last Shadow Puppets release their second album, Standing Next to Me, this Monday.
Much like the album, Standing Next to Me is a lush, string-led affair making nods to Scott Walker while also sharing the fast-paced rush of Love. The single also features two brand new tracks from the Last Shadow Puppets, Gas Dance and Sequels.

Since The Last Shadow Puppets – a collaboration between Arctic Monkey Alex Turner and Miles Kane of The Rascals – released The Age of the Understatement in April, the band has been propelled into the higher echelons of rock and roll with universal critical acclaim.

The slick, classy qualities of their first single, The Age of the Understatement, is likewise audible in Standing Next To Me. Harmonies mark the chorus 'Your love is standing next to me/standing next to me' with layers of brass and fast-paced gentle drumming.

The single will be available on 7" CD and digital download.
The Last Shadow Puppets play Sheffield City Hall on October 23. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Saturday
