Sky Sports descended on Owlerton Stadium this week to cover the Colors Light 3 Steps to Victory greyhound racing meeting.

A night at the dogs has been an essential part of the Sheffield sporting scene since it was introduced at Owlerton in 1932.

But the stadium has been home to ther sports - and still is with stockcar, banger and speedway also on offer this week.

Our picture of a cup presentation, however, is from an even more unlikely sport at the venue - baseball.

Between 1936 and 1939 Owlerton was home field to the Sheffield Dons baseball team as the sport enjoyed a period of popularity in the UK ended by the Second World War.
