CONCERT and ice hockey fans were today told not to worry after 2,000 tons of muck was dumped inside Sheffield Motorpoint Arena for today’s British Supercross Championship.
Future West boss John Hellam, promoting the top national event, said: “We’ve done this many times and by Sunday afternoon nobody will even know we’ve been there.
“But if families want an exciting day out, watching some spectacular motorbike racing, with bikers leaping through the air, they should come down to the Arena today.”
Katy Bullock, Miss Supercross and a former Ladies European Trials and Enduro champion, will be presenting some of the live show tonight, Saturday, October 22, 2011.
The motorbike champion said: “The track is amazing. I went down to the Arena to watch it being built and to talk to some of the riders yesterday.
“I’m not scared by most things, but that track is scary. You’ve got to admire the riders who race around and leap so high into the air on the jumps. This is an amazing extreme sport to watch. If you’ve never seen it, come down and take a look.”
