Charity ball raised thousands

An annual charity ball which took place on Saturday raised over £35,000 for cancer care.
The money raised at the Diamond Ball will help Cavendish Cancer Care continue to provide complementary therapy and counselling to cancer patients their carers or children.

The Ball kicked off with a champagne reception and featured entertainment from "Hot Stuff" a group of undercover firemen who infiltrated Baldwin's Omega on the basis on a fire safety inspection only to break in song and comedy in the course of their duties.

The grand auction on the evening raised £24,000 with the highlights being an exclusive training package with Ricky Hatton, including a visit to Man City to watch from his box; An original commission from Sheffield's own Pete McKee; and a behind the scenes tour of the "Match of the Day" Studio and filming.
