Climber falls 50ft in Peaks

A CLIMBER suffered a seriously broken ankle and wrist when he plunged 50ft in the Peak District.
The 20-year-old man, from Manchester, fell at Horseshoe Quarry, Stoney Middleton, as he was being lowered off a route.

He was treated at the scene by the East Midlands Ambulance Service assisted by the Edale Mountain Rescue Team.

The man was airlifted to Chesterfield Royal Hospital by Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance following the accident at around 11.20am on Sunday.
