MUSIC is set to rise from the ashes of an old steelworks club in Stocks-bridge.
Stages for acoustic music, blues, classical, pop and rock will be part of The Venue, which is due to open in March after a redevelopment of the former Victory Club in Manchester Road.

Audiences will be able to enjoy music in either a theatre or cabaret setting or, for more informal nights, in the lounge/bar.

Already Sheffield songwriter and acoustic performer Charlie Barker, who has hosted acoustic music nights throughout Sheffield and Derbyshire, is keen to get involved. She is performing a solo concert on Friday, April 18, and hosting an acoustic open mic on Friday, May 23.

The Venue has been created following a £1.5m investment by the STEP Development Trust and the European Objective One fund and will be run by the Stocksbridge Futures Partnership.

lFor information about Charlie Barker's music nights or if you would like to perform at the open mic, contact the Partnership on 2361040 or email thepartnership@charliebarkermusic.com.
