ABOUT 5,500 runners are expected to line up in Sheffield city centre on Sunday for the Bupa Great Yorkshire run.
From Norfolk Street, next to the Crucible Theatre, they will follow a route along Commercial Street, Haymarket, Castle Street, Snig Hill, West Bar, Shalesmoor, Penistone Road, Parkside Road and Catch Bar Lane to the Sheffield Wednesday stadium.

Th
e return leg leaves the Hillsborough ground at the Penistone Road entrance and follows the same line back into the city centre, using Castlegate, Exchange Street and Commercial Street to reach the finishing line on Arundel Gate.

The elite women's race will start at 9.20am, followed by the men from 9.28am.

Late entries will be taken tomorrow between noon and 4pm at the Winter Garden.

Celebrities confirmed to run include Richard Harrington, James Thornton and Cal MacAninch from TV police drama Holby Blue, Vicky Binns, who plays Molly Compton in Coronation Street, and Spooks actress Shauna Macdonald.

A 'mini run', for children aged three to eight, is being staged over 2k at Don Valley Stadium tomorrow, starting at 10.30am, followed by a junior run, over 3k, for nine to 14-year-olds, at 11.30 am.

lMotorists are warned of road closures starting from 4.30am on Sunday. All roads are due to be open again by 2pm.
