Face painting, martial arts displays and a visit from a boxing champion were all part of the fun at a community event in Westfield.
Westfield Big Local welcomed about 250 people to Shortbrook School for a day packed with community spirit.
As well as plenty of entertainment, the event was also a chance for local people to have their say on how a £1 million ‘Big Local’ grant should be spent on making Westfield an even better place to live.
Big Local representative Ian Owers said: “It went really well.
“There was a very good age range, the entertainment was great and the Lord Mayor and Clinton Woods turned up and did their thing.
“It certainly moved the project a good step forward and it made it clear that having one or two community events like this does begin to get people together.
“We’ve had a lot more interest and more positive suggestions this time than at any other event we’ve done.”
The findings of the event will be presented at an open evening on June 10 at Shortbrook School from 6pm.
