Up to 5,000 people are estimated to have visited the latest Heeley Festival.
“It went really well,” said Bev Nunn, of Heeley Development Trust, which oversees Heeley Entertainment and Activities Team. “The rain held off and we had some sunshine, although it was quite windy.”
Many of the activities last Saturday were on Heeley Millennium Park, and visitors started to appear with the arrival of a car boot sale.
“This year the classic car show was really popular. We had about 25 classic cars and motorcycles, which was probably double year. We had a circus show in the Heeley Institute, which was also very popular. We couldn’t fit any more kids in the building!”
Bev added: “People like community festivals and when the sun shines they come out and stay out.”
Heeley’s Big Boulder Music and Arts Festival is on September 8.
