Sheffield schoolgirl Kristina Pavic received a very special delivery after winning a Christmas stamp design contest organised by Royal Mail. The youngster, from Ashdell Prep School in Broomhill, was given a framed set of Smiler stamps, featuring her very own design. Kristina’s entry was chosen from 240,000 submitted across the Yorkshire region, and she is now through to the national final.
The schoolgirl was presented with her stamps by Royal Mail’s David Mallett. Heidi Wragg, Ashdell’s head of art, said: “Ashdell girls have always shown lots of enthusiasm and talent when it comes to drawing and painting and they always rise to the challenge of competitions. We’ve had a lot of success over the years and it is really great to see even our younger girls are starting to win national competitions.”
