Afghan action family day

AN English vicar, a carpet workshop in Kabul and internet technology seems an unlikely combination to change the world.

But Afghan Action, a small British charity, is coming to Sheffield this weekend to explain their hope for one of the most volatile regions in the world.

Chris Beales, a vicar from Milton Keynes with many years’ experience of working with Muslim communities, set up a carpet workshop in Kabul with Afghan partners to provide a future for young people by offering employment, skills and education. The carpets are exported to the UK for sale, bringing craftsmanship and beauty from one of the most war-torn parts of the world.

Afghan Action are holding a family day from 10am-1pm on Saturday at St Mary’s Community Centre, Bramall Lane. For more details contact Graham Duncan on 0114 223 0223 or Afghan Action on 07957 135593.
