AMATEUR dramatics fans Frank and Margaret Kelly were the stars of their very own show.
They received a surprise visit from the Lord Mayor on the day of their diamond wedding anniversary.
Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun John Campbell visited the couple on their special day to join family and friends.
Margaret, aged 82 and Frank, 85, married on August 2, 1952, in Woodhouse, where they still live.
Margaret was a teacher at Woodhouse County Junior School - later to be called Brunswick School.
Frank was an estates and wayleaves officer for the Yorkshire Electricity Board near the Sheffield Parkway.
Proud daughter Linda paid tribute to her parents’ devotion to both their family and the wider community, highlighting their passion for local theatre.
Linda is a leading member of Manor Operatic Society and said her parents help out with all the shows.
She said: “They have always supported each other and family in everything we all do. They have always supported local theatre and dance, with my sister and I having been involved from being young.
“Both Mum and Dad are the house managers for Manor Operatic Society for pantomimes and shows.
“Mum is still the ticket secretary for Sheffield Teachers’ Operatic Society at City Hall and Miss Dance UK in Blackpool.”
