AWARDS have been presented by Sheffield Homes to people in the community that go the extra mile to help others.
Coun Harry Harpham, Sheffield Council cabinet member for housing, said: “These awards highlight how fortunate we are in Sheffield to have so many people who volunteer their own time to support their communities.
“The nominations received were outstanding and showcased the fantastic work around the city. I feel proud we have so many community champions amongst us.”
The awards attracted 64 nominations from across the city.
They have been handed out annually since 2007 in memory of former Sheffield Homes employee Paul Key, who was based in an Area Housing office and then in the Community Engagement team, where he worked with tenants’ groups.
He died suddenly in 2006, aged 36.
