Public bodies in South Yorkshire are on the hunt for members of the public to join their teams to oversee ethical standards.
Sheffield and Barnsley Councils, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority, and South Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority have set up a new ethical standards procedure for councillors and co-opted members of the four authorities.
As part of the new arrangements, members of the public are needed to act as Independent Persons who will play a key role in decisions where complaints have been made about councillors, members or people co-opted to the organisations.
Independent Persons will be appointed for a term of up to four years. An annual allowance together with reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses are available.
The closing date for applications is July 20.
