SHEFFIELD lads Arctic Monkeys will play two homecoming gigs in the steel city ahead of their UK tour this summer.

The group are headlining V Festival and T in the Park this summer and are planning to hit Sheffield in June.

Singer Alex Turner said the foursome were going into rehearsals for the summers gigs this week.

“The way we did the record this time we were pretty well rehearsed,” he said.

“It’s more the old ones which will be a bit rusty.”

The singer described the sound and lyrics of Suck It And See - released on 6 June - as being a “mix” of their previous three albums.

“It’s got the same sense of the humour. It’s a bit less about the observations now - it’s more internal, more balanced and not quite as mystical.

“It’s not about the chip shop either.”

Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair is the first proper single to be released from new album Suck It And See.

Arctic Monkeys released teaser track Brick by Brick, the third track on their new album, on their website last month.
