It’s become a fixture during the summer holidays in Sheffield city centre.

The return of ‘Sheffield by the Sea’ sees a beach and funfair back in the Peace Gardens from Saturday for the duration of August. Funfair rides are also in Fargate.

Meanwhile, The Moor stages activities themed on ‘The Pier’ on Saturday, while Barkers Pool becomes ‘The Prom’ with music, song and other entertainment in the evening.

It’s part of the council’s Sheffield Summer Saturdays programme, which aims to encourage visitors to the city centre at a traditionally quiet time of year.

More than 100 classic cars, bikes and scooters return to The Moor on Sunday.

The seventh ‘Classics on the Moor’, from 11am to 4pm, also features displays by South Yorkshire Police, Sheffield Tigers speedway team, children’s entertainment and music from the 60s and 70s.
