SOME bikers went to great lengths to capture the spirit of the occasion as the sixth Easter Egg Run was held to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Superbike champion James Toseland led a procession of 700 bikers through the city to Western Bank on Sunday, although this year he headed the convoy in a BMW rather than on his bike because of an injury to his hand.

The police-escorted procession included riders from the Three Shires Honda Owners Club, who organise the event, bringing chocolate eggs to the patients and raising thousands of pounds to improve the care and environment for children at the hospital.

Last year the ride raised more than £3,000.
