Sheffield United and Wales footballer Ched Evans will be asked to enter a plea to a rape charge in October.
The 22-year-old, of Millhouse Green, Penistone, Barnsley, appeared at a short preliminary hearing at Mold Crown Court yesterday under his full name of Chedwyn Evans.
Also accused of the rape of a woman at the Premier Inn, Rhuddlan, near Rhyl at the end of May is Clayton Rodney McDonald, 22, of Marys Gate, Crewe.
Both were bailed by Judge Niclas Parry pending a plea and directions hearing in October.
A condition of bail is that they should not enter North Wales except for the court hearing.
An application by Evans to be allowed to return to Rhyl to visit his family on his day off from the football club was refused.
The judge ordered the men are not to contact the 19-year-old complainant who comes from the Rhyl area.
