CROSS-BREED dog Clyde is looking for a special birthday present - a new home.
Tony Benham, RSPCA Sheffield branch animal care manager, said: “Clyde is a black labrador-cross-staffy, which makes him a big, chunky, but gentle fellow.
“He had his fourth birthday last week and the best present for him would have been a new, loving home. So, hopefully we can give him a belated celebration.
“Clyde is an affectionate dog who loves kisses, cuddles and having his tummy rubbed. He loves people and is good around them.
“He is generally well behaved and has had a good start with his basic training and commands.
“Due to how big and bouncy Clyde is, any children in his new home should be aged 12 or over.
“He makes us laugh at the centre as he can be a quite a challenge to bath – he tries to eat the water.
“He travels well and enjoys the beach and the woods and playing with his toys.
“Although Clyde was taken to puppy classes by his original owners, and socialised with other dogs, we don’t have a history on how he interacts with other dogs and cats.
“Regarding walking, we would suggest a minimum of 30 minutes at least twice a day. But he is an energetic dog and his original owners used to take him running for 1.5 miles every morning. Clyde is good at managing alone in a home without being destructive, as long as he has his toys and possibly a radio is left on.
“We would always suggest animals are given as much human company as possible and suggest adopters slowly build up the amount of time an animal is left."
