WHICH is best for baby - bottle or breast?

It is a topic which has been debated for years - but if your a Sheffield baby there is really only one choice.

Especially when the bottle in question happens to contain the city’s favourite black stuff.

Little Betsy Pearl Smedley was born in Dubai where her dad Simon works as a DJ on local radio station Duba 92.

And Sheffielder Simon - known to listeners in the United Arab Emirates as Catboy - is such a celebrity out there the magazines were falling over themselves to get a picture of his new daughter.

The picture was then splashed on the front page - with a splash of added colour in the shape of a bottle of Henderson’s Relish courtesy of dad.

Simon, whose parents Jackie and Andy Smedley live in Woodhouse said it is all part of his plan to ensure Betsy is a true Sheffielder.

He said: “I am speaking constantly to Betsy Pearl in my broadest Sheffield accent.

“My worry is she’ll pick up a bit of her Mum Lorra’s New Forest drawl and not even know what a breadcake is. It’s a constant struggle.

“As far as Betsy Pearl and Henderson’s goes, the empty bottle in the photo is the last of my stock until my parents arrive in Dubai in a couple of weeks.

“I asked my wife, Lorra, if we could put a teat on the Hendo’s bottle and use it, but it was like talking to a brick wall.

“This is what happens when you marry a Southerner.”
