A BRAVE youngster battling a rare disease was guest of honour at a Sheffield Steelers game.
Thomas Fletcher was given the VIP treatment as the ice hockey team met their biggest rivals, Nottingham Panthers.
The eight-year-old, who has life-limiting condition obliterative bronchiolitis, got a tour of the Motorpoint Arena in Attercliffe, where the Steelers play home games and also got to meet the game’s goal-scoring hero Tom Sestito.
Mike O’Connor, Steelers commercial manager, said: “Fans never get to go inside the dressing room before a game but once I mentioned Thomas to captain Jonathan Phillips he had the full invite. His smile lit up the arena, he and his family were a pleasure to be around.”
