£86m boost for SMEs

Finance Yorkshire has invested nearly £30 million in more than 200 small and medium sized firms in the two and a quarter years since the organisation was founded to bridge the region’s investment gap.

The venture capital and loan fund says the 280 investments it has made have levered in a further £56 million from the private sector and led to more than 5,190 jobs being created or safeguarded.

Chief executive Alex McWhirter said: “Results so far show that we are making a real impact in Yorkshire and Humber. “
