Apprentice of the Year wins top flight trip to Boeing HQ

A 17-year-old apprentice from Eldon Tools in Sheffield has won a trip to Boeing’s headquarters in Seattle after being named the AMRC Training Centre’s Apprentice of the Year.

Russell Fox, of Atherton Road, Arbourthorne also won the Academic Achiever of the Year award at the event at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Rotherham.

John London, Eldon engineering manager, said: “We are extremely proud of Russell and his achievements.”

The awards were presented at a ceremony at Firth Hall by David Pitchforth, managing director Boeing Defence UK, right, and university vice chancellor Sir Keith Burnett.
