BUSINESSMAN Mike Blundell is joining the board of Sheffield United.
Founder of the Blundells Estate Agency, Mr Blundell has invested in the club becoming a director of the football club board where he will work closely with chairman Chris Steer, plc chairman and owner Kevin McCabe and director Scott McCabe in developing the club’s commercial links across the region.
“Many people in Sheffield are aware of my passion for the Blades,” he said. “I have always wanted to be a director and now the time is right for me to take up that opportunity following discussions with Kevin McCabe and Chris Steer.
“I will be working closely with the commercial team where I hope to identify and help develop new opportunities for the club.”
Kevin McCabe said: “I have known Mike for a long time and I am delighted that he is coming on board.”
Mr Blundell founded Blundells in 1977 and the company has grown from a one-man band to an estate agency with 14 offices and more than 150 employees.
Blundells is now part of the Countrywide estate agency and property servicesgroup and Mr Blundell continues to overseeing the Blundells Dronfield branch and the south-west Sheffield area.
