Construction ball raises £15,000

VINCI Construction UK helped to raise £15,000 for the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity as headline sponsor of the 11th Annual Sheffield Charity Construction Ball.

First held 11 years ago to give the city’s construction industry an opportunity to raise money for good causes, the ball has become a highlight of the construction sector calendar in Yorkshire and over the years has raised £137,500 for a range of local charities.

VINCI recently appointed Regional Director Keith Shivers, who was instrumental in first establishing the annual event in 2001.

He said: “Sheffield is important to VINCI here in Yorkshire: not only do we have a base here but we are also involved in the £350m Building Schools for the Future programme that is still ongoing in the city.

We have a really strong presence in the construction sector in Sheffield and I’m delighted that can play an important role as headline sponsor in contributing to this event, which gives us all an opportunity to put something back into our local community.”
