THE Dam House bar and restaurant in Crookes Valley Park has been sold an auction for £60,000.
The identity of the buyer of the building, which closed suddenly earlier this year when the owner went into administration, has not been revealed.
Auctioneer Adrian Little, of Mark Jenkinson Auctioneers said: “The Dam House sold for £60,000 but we started with no reserve because the new owner must pay off £35,000 in ground rent which is owed to the council.
“Bids started at £500 but the amount escalated and at the end there was fierce competition between two remaining bidders.”
The auction was at Bramall Lane’s Platinium Suite.
