Drivers are being urged to ensure they park considerately over the summer holidays as roadworks take place across Sheffield.
A series of schemes will take place around Sheffield over the summer as part of Sheffield Council’s £2 billion Streets Ahead programme to bring the city’s roads and pavements up to standard.
Coun Jack Scott, cabinet member for environment, recycling and streetscene, said: “The Streets Ahead project will be working in many areas of the city during the summer months and we are encouraging all residents to make a note of when works are taking place in their area.
“We need the cooperation of all residents and businesses for this work to happen as quickly as possible.
Graeme Symonds, Streets Ahead network director, said: “Summer is a busy time for road resurfacing as we take advantage of the hopefully good weather to press ahead.
“Unfortunately, it is also a time when many people are away for their holidays.
“Last summer, work on some streets had to be delayed because of the large numbers of parked cars, so this year I would like to appeal to residents across Sheffield to be aware of when road works are scheduled for their areas.”
