Small businesses with big ambitions are invited to attend a free event aimed at helping them boost business prospects.
The event takes place at Sheffield Town Hall on Wednesday, November 4, from 8am to 9am and launches a month of activity in the run up to Small Business Saturday, which aims to raise the profile of small businesses.
In addition Business Sheffield, the business arm of Sheffield City Council, will be working with small business ambassadors to run five workshops to help enhance relationships between small firms.
They will take place at:- Strip the Willow, South View Road, Nether Edge, November 11, Eyefinity, Chesterfield Road, Woodseats, November 12, Firehouse Fitness, White Rose Business Park, Halfway, November 17, Full Monte, Attercliffe Road, Attercliffe, November 18 and Cupola Contemporary Art, Middlewood Road, Hillsborough, November 19. Small Business Saturday is a national initiative launched in 2013 and takes place on December 5.
There are 12,420 small businesses in the Sheffield area, employing between 1 and 9 people, and the scheme aims to raise the profile of these firms by holding promotional events and workshops.
Councillor Leigh Bramall, cabinet member for business, skills and development at Sheffield City Council, said: “Small Business Saturday is about celebrating the success of small business, ensuring that they have good access to services like those provided through Business Sheffield and reminding consumers to support their own communities by shopping locally.”
