A year’s notice was more than enough for other internet service providers using the Digital Region network to switch service.
Sheffield-based Ask4 claims it migrated 500 customers to other networks with no downtime and just two issues, completing the process by July.
The firm specialises in internet for student accommodation. The whole process from signing up with Digital Region to losing customers in the close down cost the firm about £350,000, said director Jonathan Thornhill. “We’ve lost customers to firms such as BT and Virgin but it’s gone smoothly and we have congratulated the team. Getting it wrong could have cost thousands in loss of reputation.”
