Sheffield-based Linear Recruitment has continued its national expansion programme with the opening of two new offices in Bristol and Newcastle, bringing the total to seven offices throughout the UK.

Established in Sheffield 10 years ago, the recruitment company specialises in the construction, engineering, industrial, rail and commercial sectors at all levels up to middle management. Bucking the trend in the recruitment sector which has contracted significantly since the economic downturn, Linear has expanded rapidly over the past two years to reach a £17 million turnover with a staff of 46.

The company’s new Bristol office opened last month and will specialise in construction and civil engineering recruitment. Jordan Davies is to run the Bristol office alongside regional director, Euan Boyd.

Meanwhile Geoff Taylor will run the Newcastle office heading up a five-strong team of consultants and two admin staff and responsible for over 100 temporary workers.

The new Newcastle office will specialise in the construction, engineering and energy sectors, providing recruitment expertise to clients across the North East and into Scotland and Northern Europe.

Managing director Adam Turner said: “In challenging times it’s the quality of service and depth of expertise that counts, which is why our success has continued over the past three years. We’ve also made some brave choices, opting to establish new offices to give us a truly national reach.’’
